Bad blood, mishaps devour eight lives

At least eight persons including four women and infant were killed in various mishaps occurred in different areas over the past 48 hours.
According to details, in Basti Dewan Wali Jhang, situated in the remit of Jhang City Police, a man axed his wife to death for honour. As per details, Riaz axed his wife Ghulam Zuhra to death as he suspected her of having developed illicit relations with someone. The City Police have registered a case against culprit and arrested him.
In another incident, a man gunned down his wife over a petty family issue and threw her dead body into river. Reportedly, Shakeel Ahmed, a resident of Thathi Gull situated in the limits of Kot Shakir Police gunned down his 21-year-old wife Nazia Bibi and threw her dead body in River Jhelum. After hectic struggle, the police recovered her dead body and registered a case against Shakeel.
Meanwhile, the Massan Police recovered the dead body of unidentified person from River Jhelum. According to the police, unidentified accused had killed the man and threw the body into the river. Identity of the deceased could not be confirmed yet. The police have registered a case against unknown culprits.
Similarly, a 40-year-old man was gunned down at a wedding ceremony. The henna ceremony of Javed Iqbal and Sajid Ali, resident of Chak 7/3L in Ahmedpur Sial Police were going on when culprit Jabbir Ali, brother of brides exchanged harsh word with his close relative Muhammad Hussain at which Jabbir Ali flared up and he opened indiscriminate firing. As result, Hussain was killed on the spot. The Ahmedpur Sial Police arrested Jabbir and registered a case against him.
In yet a road mishap that occurred on Jhang-Chiniot Road, a woman was killed in a collision between a bike and rickshaw. As per details, Nuzahat Bibi, wife of Muhammad Riaz, a resident of Mauza Suleman was going on a bike along with her brother. As they reached near Adda Shabbirabad, the motorcycle collided with a motorcycle rickshaw coming from the opposite direction due to speeding.
Resultantly, Nuzahat Bibi received severe head injuries and breathed her last on the spot while her brother Muhammad Nawaz sustained minor injuries.
On Jhang-Bhakkar Road near Wasoo Astana, a 20-year-old young man was killed. Reportedly, Kashif, a resident of Faisalabad was going on a bike when near Wasoo Astana, the bike collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction.
Resultantly he died on the spot.
In Sheikhupura, a woman along her month-old infant died in a road accident on Hafizabad Road near Jandiala Sher Khan on Tuesday. The woman identified as Shamshad Bibi, carrying her month-old son in her lap was across the road when a rashly driven tractor-trolley knocked her down. As a result both sustained critical injuries and died on the way to hospital. The driver escaped from the scene while the Saddr Police have registered a case.
