Nawaz could not cast vote

LAHORE  -  Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif could not cast his vote for not carrying Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC).

Accompanied by daughter Maryam Nawaz, mother and other family members, Nawaz Sharif arrived at Government Technology College, Railway Road in the afternoon for casting vote in NA-124.

PML-N workers showered rose petals on vehicles of Nawaz Sharif on his arrival. Highly charged workers chanted slogans in favour of Nawaz Sharif. However, the ex-PM was not allowed to cast vote for failure to produce CNIC.

Former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is contesting election from this constituency against PTI’s Ghulam Mohhiuddin Dewan.

The seat was vacated by Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz.
