Police arrest 2 persons for torturing woman 

RAWALPINDI - Police have arrested two persons on charges of torturing and attempting to shave off head of a woman while accusing her of practicing “black magic,” informed sources on Thursday. The detainees have been identified as Nazia and Hassan against whom a case was also registered under multiple charges with Police Station (PS) Saddar Bairooni, they said. According to sources, a video showing a man and woman placing another woman under severe torture and attempting to cut her hair with a scissor in a house located somewhere at Adiala Road went viral on a private TV channel. 

They said City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younas took notice of the incident and ordered Saddar Bairooni police to trace out the accused.

Following the orders of CPO, a team of Saddar Bairooni police managed to trace out the accused and held them during a raid. 

Sources said Trainee ASI Muhammad Shehzad Zafar submitted a complaint with PS Saddar Bairooni’s SHO Inspector Malik Allah Yar stating he received a video of the incident and managed to find out the victim woman. He added that the woman’s sister-in-law Shazia and a man Hassan, husband of her other sister-in-law, accused her of practicing black magic and tortured her mercilessly. He also added the duo tried to cut her hair with a scissor. The ASI pleaded SHO to register a case against the accused and to arrest them. Police have filed case against the two persons under sections 506ii/354/509/337K and 511 of PPC and held them.

In a statement, CPO Muhammad Ahsan Younas appreciated the efforts of Saddar Bairooni police. He said violence against women would not be tolerated. He said police have obtained substantial evidence against the accused.
