PESHAWAR (APP) - A meeting of the NWFP Olympic Association general council was held on Sunday to review arrangements for the forthcoming 3rd Inter-Provincial Games to be scheduled from November 9-13, 2008 here. President of the NWFP OA and NWFP Minister for Sports Syed Ail Shah while presiding the meeting discussed such concerning issues constitution of selection committees, conduct of open trials, setting up of coaching camps, preparation for opening and closing ceremonies and need of equipment's Director Sports NWFP Altaf Umarzai, Secretary NWFP OA Zulfiqar Butt, Secretaries of various associations comprising Kifayatullah Khan (Table Tennis), Taj Muhammad (Weightlifting), Muhammad Asif (Swimming), Nisar Ahmad (Cycling), Noor Ahmad Shah (Football), Abdul Jalil Mirza (Boxing), Mansoor Ahmad (Karate), Masood Ahmad (Judo), Sisal Muhammad (Baseball), Shahid Kamal (Volleyball), Usman Afridi (Badminton), Murtaza Hassan (Taekwondo), Rehmat Gul Afridi (Wash), Zulfiqar Ahmad Raza (Sailing), Arbab Naseer (Kabaddi), Assistant Director Sports NWFP Mir Bashar and representative of the media group Enhances were also present. Secretary of the NWFP Squash Association and NWFP Wrestling Association did not turn up for the meeting. Besides finalising the venues, the meeting also announced date for the trials and set up of various camps. And approved conduct of baseball, wrestling in Mardan as desired by the NWFP CM Amir Mardan is a hometown of the NWFP CM who is also the Chief Patron of the Games and the concluding ceremony of the Peshawar-Mardan Cycle Race will be staged there in which NWFP Chief Minister will grace the occasion as chief guest. Giving views on this occasion, Ail Shah directed the associations to conduct trials before Oct 15, followed by camps till Nov 7, 2008 and the games will be commencing from Nov 9-13. It was further decided that the age of the players will be strictly monitored and only below 25-years will be eligible for the games.
