Four dacoits including one with a bounty of Rs1.2 million were killed in separate shootouts with police occurred in different areas on Monday.

In Gujranwala, two dacoits were killed in crossfire with CIA police. According to the police, one of the killed dacoits... Tahir Irfan had a head money of Rs1.2 million. The police said that Tahir and Iftikhar snatched cash and other valuables from citizens in Khiali area and fled away. In the meantime, the CIA police attempted to stop them at a checkpoint but they instead started firing on the police. In retaliatory firing both the dacoits were killed on the spot.

SP CIA Police Imran Abbas Chadhar said that both the dacoits were wanted by police in more 55 cases including murders, robberies and police shootouts.

In Okara, two alleged robbers were killed in a shootout with police Basirpur area. Acting on a complaint by a citizen that four robbers have fled after snatching a motorcycle from him, the police gave them a chase. As the police got closed to the fleeing robbers, they opened fire on the police. The police retaliated, killing two robbers on the spot. Two other robbers, however, made good their escape. The police shifted the bodies to a local hospital for autopsy and registered a case.
