ATC declares MQM’s Hammad Siddiqui ‘proclaimed offender’

KARACHI:  An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) declared former in-charge of Organizational Committee of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Hammad Siddiqui, as a proclaimed offender in the case of a gun attack on a rally of an opponent party in Karachi in 2012.

In today’s hearing, police investigation officer of the case told the ATC that the accused, Amir Alias Sar Phata, who is already in police custody in connection with the attack,  revealed involvement of others involved.

After the hearing, the court declared MQM’s Hammad Siddiqui, Manzoor Alias Manju, Kamran Kala, Rizwan and Nabeel Mama as proclaimed offenders.

At least ten people, including a woman and a policeman, were killed when Qaumi Awami Tehreek’s Mohabbat-e-Sindh rally was attacked in Karachi in 2012.
