RAWALPINDI - M Zaman alias Chacha T20 cricket visited Pindi Cricket Stadium with his traditional look, carrying national flag, and his arrival put new lease of life among spectators.

Talking to The Nation, Chacha T20 said: “I was kabbadi player, but when I watched Salim Malik scoring magical 66 against India in Calcutta in 1986, I started following Pakistan team since then and never missed a single match involving Pakistan since 1996 in UAE, where I started working as sweets maker and then as driver, I even watched practice matches there as well.”

He said when Pakistan team was going to Bangladesh to play in Asia Cup in 2012, he applied for leave, but it was turned down. “I was left with no other option, but to quit my job and travelled to Bangladesh. My delight was doubled, when Pakistan lifted the Asia Cup. I am jobless for the last five years or so, I am 48-year-old and I am going to UAE once again for job purposes on September 18. Before my arrival to Pindi Stadium, it was giving deserted look but as soon as I entered the stadium, it was near to capacity in the afternoon and full in the evening match.”

“I have sheer love and passion for Pakistan cricket and never demanded anything from PCB or any other person. There are so many worthy sponsors, and if they hire my services, they will get better results. I will not beg or demand anything from anyone, if the PCB thinks I am worthy to help Pakistan cricket, they should honor me. I have spent my life savings on cricket and I will continue to do so, till I am alive,” he added.

About Pakistan-India bilateral cricketing ties, he replied: “India must allow cricketing ties with Pakistan, as it will help both sides of people to witness high-standard cricket and their heroes live in action. The bilateral series is only viable solution to bring both the nations closer,” he concluded.
