Armed robbers gunned down two persons when they put up resistance during a robbery late the other night. The incident occurred in the remit of Minchinabad Police.

Muhammad Abbas, son of Muhammad Anwar, resident of Bonga Balochan died on the spot and Shahid, son of Ahmed Khan breathed his last on the way to hospital. The incident took place when eight armed dacoits stormed village Bonga Balochan. They killed both the deceased when they attempted to overpower the accused.

The outlaws snatched a licensed rifle and cellphone before fleeing the scene.

Following the incident, members of the bereaved families, flanked by scores of locals, staged a protest against the poor law and order situation. They put the dead bodies in front of DSP Minchinabad's office and chanted slogans against the police. They said that local police apparently failed to protect life and property of the public. They demanded Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the police failure. The police have registered a case against unidentified accused.

Man, two sons crushed to death

A sanitary worker and his two sons were killed in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and mini-truck on Monday.

His nephew also sustained critical injuries in the accident that occurred near village Dugri Hariyaan on Sialkot-Chawinda-Zafarwal Road.

Reportedly, village Budhan Tharo-based sanitary worker Razzaq Masih, 50, was going to drop his two sons - Ejaz Masih 7, Arbal Masih, 14 and nephew Saim Masih to their school in Chawinda, on his motorcycle. In the meanwhile, a mini-truck, coming from the opposite direction, rammed into the motorcycle, killing sanitary worker Razzaq and his two sons on the spot. While his nephew sustained critical injuries and was shifted to Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial DHQ Teaching Hospital Sialkot. The Phalora Police have registered a case against the fleeing truck driver.

In another incident, village Glotiyaan-based two brothers Nasir and Kala were killed in a collision between a motorcycle and a passenger bus near Sialkot Bypass on main Sialkot-Daska-Gujranwala Road, the other day.

They were going to do labour in Gujranwala when the bus crushed them to death.
