Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday has taken suo motu notice of the expensive healthcare facilities in private hospitals of Lahore.
The Chief Justice, hearing a case of public interest at the Supreme Court Lahore Registry today, summoned the owners of more than ten private hospitals to appear before the court tomorrow.
During the hearing, the CJP remarked, "private hospitals fleece patients by charging them hefty amount on a per-day basis".
Justice Nisar also issued notices to the Secretary Health Punjab and Punjab Healthcare Commission in this regard. CJP has taken notices earlier of loopholes in the health sector in Punjab.
