Sassui assures to enforce 'Legend Fund' for artists

KARACHI - Sassui Palijo, provincial minister for culture and tourism, lamented that Legend Fund has been failed to support actors despite it has Rs60 million fund for artists. It didnt support even prominent actors like Shafi Mohammad Shah and Roshan Atta, but she (Sassui) would not repeat the history. Summary for the treatment of Surkash Sindh is with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah for approval. Sassui also took notice of study mechanism of the libraries and directed to install close circuit cameras, walkthrough gates and to make computerised library cards so that genuine readers could avail the precious material on all subjects and the libraries could be secured from the ill activities. In a meeting held here on Wednesday, she pointed out that libraries are tantamount to institutions as they have been training millions of youngsters and knowledge seekers in their fields. The minister made clear that all the libraries affiliated with the department would be preserved by computerising them and they would be facilitated with CCTVs to control cyber crime. About Keenjhar Lake, she said that efforts were underway to secure fishermen and tourists by improving security system and providing quality material like life jackets, shoes and others to fishermen. In this regard, I will arrange meetings with district government next week. Shams Jaffrani, Iqbal Soomro, Asif Ali Memon, Moonis Ayaz Sheikh, Mohammad Ali Manjhi, Shahzore Ali Taybani, Manzoor Ahmed Qanasro, Abdul Razaq Baloch, Saleem Jarwar and others participated in the meeting.
