OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE On the call of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, demonstrations were held across the country outside mosques after Friday prayers to protest against desecration of the Holy Quran at Florida Church and ban on veil in France. The speakers stressed upon the rulers to raise the issue at international level and lodge strong protest with the US. Highly charged participants chanted anti-US slogans. At various places, the US flags and effigies of priest Terry Jones and Wyne Sapp were also set ablaze. During Juma prayers, khatibs delivered special sermon on Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH), sanctity of veil and significance and respect of the Holy Quran.
