Five persons including a political party activist were killed and four others injured in separate incidents in different localities of the city on Saturday. Two youngsters were crushed to death by a speedy trailer in Korangi Industrial on Saturday. According to details two motorcyclists hailing from Korangi area were on their way to office when a reckless driven trailer hit them near Vita Chowrangi of Korangi Industrial area resultantly critically injuring them. Both the injured died while being shifted to hospital. They were identified as Noor and Ayub. The police took the vehicle into its custody and arrested the driver. One person whose identity has not been ascertained was killed in firing of unidentified assailants near Malir Golden Ground. In Khokhra Par area of Malir unidentified armed men opened fire at people present at a Departmental Store killing Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activist and also former councilor Noman Bukhari on the spot and fled away from the scene. Two people sustained injuries in firing of armed assailants in Korangi area. A police cop Shaukat Khan was injured after armed men opened fire at him in Shah Latif Town area. The injured was shifted to Jinnah Hospital. In yet another incident, unidentified assailants opened fire at Najeeb 40, in Sherpao Colony area of Landhi injuring him critically. Meanwhile tension gripped different areas of the city and protest demonstrations were held against lawlessness and targeted killing.
