Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that Pakistan fully supports the initiatives of Afghan people for the establishment of peace and stability in their own country. He was talking to media persons at Chaklala Airbase Saturday before his departure for Kabul on a day long visit to Afghanistan. He said that during his talks with Afghan leadership, Pakistan will offer its wholehearted and categorical support for a stable, peaceful and sovereign Afghanistan which is also in the interest of Pakistan. He said Pakistan will support Afghan-led peace process for establishing stability in the region. The Prime Minister said that he is taking message of best wishes for the people of Afghan that the entire Pakistani nation is with them. He said we have centuries old cultural and religious relations with Afghanistan and we want to improve them further. To a question, the Prime Minister said the visit of political and military leadership to Afghanistan reflects the solidarity with our Afghan brethren. He said it is his second visit in four months to Afghanistan which strengthened our relations further. Minister for Defence Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, Minsiter for Interior Rehman Malik and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khan was also accompanying the Prime Minister. Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani and Director General ISI Shuja Pasha are also visiting Afghanistan for wide ranging talks with Afghan political and military leadership.
