At least four people including Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Balochistan chapter’s President Sanaullah Zehri’s son, brother and nephew were killed in a blast near the leader’s convoy in Khuzdar district of the province, officials said on Tuesday.

According to Lavi’s officials, Zehri remained safe in the blast as he was in a bullet-proof vehicle.

According to details, Zehri, who is provincial head of PML (N), was on a campaign trail and when his convoy was passing through a bridge near Khuzdar area of Balochistan a remote-controlled devise was detonated.

According to medics, four people including Zehri’s son Sikandar Zehri son, brother Meer-ul-Allah Zehri and nephew Meer Zaid Zehri were killed. 25 others were injured. Zehri was reportedly unhurt in the blast.

At least 30 to 40 people have been injured in the blast. Wounded were shifted to nearby hospitals.

In October 2011, Sardar Sanaullah Zehri had escaped an attempt on his life near Surab in Kalat district.

Later, the Baloch Liberation Front claimed responsibility for that attack.

PML-N President Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack demanded the culprits to be brought to book.

Party leader Mushahidullah strongly condemned the incident and demanded the interim government to provide security to political leaders during election campaign.

Attacks on Political parties’ candidate increased in recent days as polling day creeping close. MQM provincial candidate Fakhar Islam was shot dead last week in Hyderabad while ANP candidates also came under attack in Swat and Shabqadar.

Khuzdar incident took place hours after hand grenade attack on house of Peoples Party candidate in Peshawar.
