LAKKI MARWAT - Local Government and Rural Development Department Assistant Director Syed Khalid Israr Shah launched the enrolment drive of five- year-old children in the schools at a function in Government Primary School No. 2, Meenakhel (Mandar) on Monday.
He put his signatures on the admission forms of several newly-admitted children in the presence of education department and NCHD officials.
DEO Haji Meer Azam, ASDEOs Abdul Rehman Rashid, Qadeer Shah and Nisar Muhammad, NCHD district program manager for education Illyas Khattak and district programme manager for literacy Alaf Gul were in the attendance.
Speaking at the function Mr Khalid said that enrollment of every five year old child should be ensured in the schools.
He said that teachers and headmasters should be assigned tasks to hold meetings with parents and members of the community to achieve the targets successfully.
He directed the officials of education department to award commendation certificates to the teachers who showed interest and best performance in enrolment campaign. Later the participants held a walk to create awareness about the importance of children enrolment in schools.
