GCCI criticises interim govt’s apathy

GUJRANWALA - The Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry office-bearers have strongly criticised the interim government for showing lack of interest towards resolving energy crisis.
They said the unscheduled and prolonged loadshedding of electricity and gas has crippled country’s economy. They said unscheduled loadshedding of electricity is adversely affecting production of the industry. They further said it was hoped that the interim government would resolve the issues of industrial sector. “It was expected that the government would take steps to ensure relief for the business community but all such hopes gained nothing but frustration,” they said adding the sector has been left with no other option but to face enormous problems.
They said Pakistan had already lost a number of global markets and the ongoing power cuts would further aggravate the situation. They urged the interim government to take some proactive measures for revival of business activities.
