LAHORE – German Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Cyrill Nunn called on former chief minister Shahbaz Sharif at his residence Monday. Matters of national economy, development process in Punjab and prevalent politics were discussed in the meeting.
Shahbaz said Germany and Pakistan were tied in close relations for decades. But now, the time has come that these are converted into solid economic relations.
The visiting ambassador, while appreciating the developmental vision of the former chief minister termed success stories various projects, including Metro Bus Service, great.
The ambassador said that he found the Pakistan Muslim League-N manifesto “the most logical and practical”. The manifesto, not only indicated various problems confronting Pakistan, but offered their viable solution too, he said, adding that the Germany wanted to see Pakistan an democratic country. He promised that after elections in Pakistan, he would personally motivate various German organisations, involved in energy production, to restart their activities in Punjab.
