BAJAJUR AGENCY - Leaders of various political parties and several candidates in Bajaur agency on Sunday accused Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Engineer Shaukatullah Khan of misusing his official position in favour of his father and brother in the upcoming election in agency.
They demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan to immediately take notice of the situation and remove governor KPK from his office forthwith.
They stated this while speaking at a press conference here at the Bajaur Press Club. Leaders of various political parties and candidates contesting the election for the NA-43, including Jamaat-i-Islami Fata Chief Sahaib Zada Haroon Rasheed, PML-N Abdullh Khan, PPP Malik Said-ur-Rahman, PTI Gul Zafar Khan  and Fatah Rahaman , Haji Fazal Rahaman and Iqbal Khan attended the press conference.
They accused Governor KPK Eng Shaukatullah Khan of using his official position in favour of his father and brother in the upcoming elections.
They said that all political parties and candidates of the region were hopeful for holding of free, fair and transparent elections in the agency but unfortunately the governor was creating troubles in this connection.
The Governor KPK Eng Shaukatullah Khan is not only involved in misusing of his official position to support his father Haji Bismallah Khan and brother Senator Hidayatullah Khan but also creating problems for other candidates in their election campaign, they said.
They said that Shaukatullah Khan’s presence in the governor house directly influenced the election process in the region.
They said that the Governor House had been converted into the election office and hundreds of tribal elders were being called there on daily basis for getting their support for the success of his father and brother in the upcoming election.
They said that for holding of free, fair and transparent election, the commission should impose complete ban on launching of new development schemes.
On the other hand, they said several development schemes had been launched recently in various areas of Bajaur with the special directives of Shaukatullah Khan, which was absolutory violation of ECP’s code of conduct. Purpose of launching dozens of development projects in different sectors in various areas was to facilitate only the elders who are supporting the father and brother of governor in the elections, they said.
They said that being a chief executive of the Fata, the officials of local administration were hijacked by the governor and he was using the officials for the support of his father and brother in upcoming election.
They said not only the governor himself distributed funds among the tribal elders but also issuing. They said that they had collected evidence of governor’s interference in the election in the region and would be submitted with the Election Commission of Pakistan.
They said that a pepper application against the governor would sent to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
