ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso has taken a prompt notice of media reports about Awami National Party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan approaching the Election Commission of Pakistan with serious security concerns. The ANP chief sought to step up his security in the wake of attacks on his party members and workers.

The caretaker premier on Monday issued an instant order to the Ministry of Interior as well as the provincial government to contact the ANP chief and take care of his security concerns in a comprehensive manner.

Khoso reiterated the caretaker government would do everything when it came to security matters, so that the political parties and their candidates could participate in the general elections with a sense of security.

The prime minister also said he was constantly monitoring the situation and was in touch with authorities concerned to ensure peace and order for upcoming elections.
