LAHORE - Punjab University VC Dr Mujahid Kamran has said that Pakistan’s number one issue was the money which has been plundered in the last five years.  He was addressing the book launching ceremony of “Pakistan Fights Extremism and Terrorism” by Dr Umbreen Javed here on Monday. Former Information Minister Muhammad Ali Durrani, renowned journalist Saleem Safi, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion. Dr Kamran said that from 1947 to 2008, Pakistan’s debt was 4.8 trillion rupees but the last government took a debt of 6.2 trillion rupees in just five years. He said that our debt had reached 70 percent of our GDP, which was a horrible situation for the country. He said that the wealth of four Pakistanis was more than the GDP of the country. He said that education had been neglected in the last 65 years and we were facing all these problems because of lack of education.
