KHANEWAL - In the light of seat adjustment agreement, the PML-Q and PPP have finalised candidates for the Nation and Provincial assemblies seat here in the district for the upcoming elections.
According to reliable sources, for NA-156 Khanewal-I, former state minister Barrister Raza Hayat Hiraj will be candidates of both the parties against the expected PML-N candidate former National Assembly speaker Syed Fakhr Imam. In general elections 2008, Raza Hayat Hiraj won the seat by defeating Syed Fakhr Imam and a neck to neck contest is expected between the old rivals in the constituency.
Former MPA Dr Syed Khawar Ali Shah, real cousin of Fakhr Imam is also a candidate from the constituency. He is annoyed with the PML-N leadership after the joining of Fakhr Imam and is now in touch with PTI for a ticket from the constituency.
