LAHORE - National snooker training camp commenced on Monday at Karachi for the Asian Snooker Championship being held on April 27.
“Eight players are attending the camp which will conclude on April 23,” said Pakistan Billiard and Snooker Association (PBSA) spokesman.
He said world champion M Asif, Hamza Khan, Imran Shahzad, M Sajjad, Abdul Sattar, Babar Masih and Sahid Aftab were the members of Pakistan team while Abu Saim was standby player.
He said the players were preparing in two daily sessions to give final touch to their preparations for the Asian premier activity which would be participated by 17 Asian countries.
“The presence of world champion Asif in the camp training is a big source of inspiration for the fellow players who will be learning finer points of the game from him,” he said and added: “We are likely to throw a strong challenge in the championship which will be very tough as Asia's top countries are taking in the event which will further promote the cause of snooker in Pakistan.”
