ISLAMABAD  - Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif has accepted the invitation of Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif to attend the passing-out parade at Military Academy Kakul, Abbottabad, on 19th of this month.
The invitation came amidst the rumours of civil-military tension and ostensibly the acceptance of invitation by Premier Sharif has allayed the rumours. It would be after a long time when any civilian prime minister has been invited to the passing-out parade at the ace military academy in the country.
Though there is no official word on the invitation and its acceptance either from ISPR or Prime Minister’s media section, sources in the government confirmed the development.
Sources said that both Sharifs would have one-on-one meeting at the sidelines of the event wherein the overall security situation in the country with specific reference to the ongoing peace negotiations with militants would came under discussion.
