Terror responded in mock drill

LAHORE - The 209-cop second batch of Quick Response Force Thursday passed out a one-month training course in Lahore.
In this connection, a passing-out parade was held at the police headquarters. Police commandos showed their skills during a mock drill at Qila Gujjar Singh Police Lines. Speaking on the occasion, Capital City Police Officer Chaudhry Shafique Ahmed said the training would help improve the professional skill.
These commandoes are imparted best training, Chaudhry said, adding, the trained jawans would patrol the crime-prone areas as well. “We feel proud. The Lahore police are ready to thwart the nefarious designs of the anti-state elements.”
The audience’s applause was tumultuous and tremendous as the cops responded to a mock terror assault. Commandoes on motorcycles went through fire-r­ings besides walking on tight ropes to help evacuate victims trapped inside a building. DIG (Op) Rana Abdul Jabbar, SSP Shahzad Akbar, SP (HQ) Maroof Wahla and SP Sadar Malik Awais were also present. The CCPO awarded shields, cash prizes, and commendatory certificates to the instructors and jawans for showing outstanding performance.
