NA committee approves the Crime Bill

ISLAMABAD- National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Information Technology today approved Electronic Crime Bill 2015 to limit cyber crimes in Pakistan. The committee discussed the bill which introduces punishments for crimes that are committed over the internet.

According to our sources, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority will be authorized to block any material against Islamic values and national security.

The bill was proposed to effectively prevent cyber crime and contribute towards national security, while providing a secure environment for investment in information technology and e-payments systems.

However, the bill is yet to be tabled before the National Assembly.
