GUJRANWALA

The Punjab police have granted the status of police station to the counterterrorism office Gujranwala. Now, cases relating to terrorism and other heinous crimes would be registered in that office.

According to sources, the counterterrorism force during an operation arrested five suspects belonging to banned organisations including former divisional president of Sipah-e-Sahaba Qari Qasim, Qari Asghar, Hafeezur Rehman, Tehreek-e-Jafaria former president Ghulam Abbas and Haidariya Youth Rasulnagar ex-president Azmat Shah. Cases have been registered against the accused.

They were presented before the Gujranwala Anti-Terrorism Court 1 and Judge Imtiaz Ch send them on judicial remand.

INAUGURATION: With the aim of providing affordable and quality education at remote areas to the masses in general and soldiers in particulars, a branch of APS&CS was inaugurated at Zafarwal by Corps Commander Gujranwala, Lieutenant General Ghayur Mahmood.

On the occasion, he emphasised the promotion of education for a thriving society. He also praised Major General Naseer Ali Khan on his personal and dedicated efforts for opening the institution at Zafarwal. The corps commander also interacted with parents, students, staff and notables present at the occasion.
