Director Development and Finance Amjad Shoaib Khan has asked all the departments concerned to submit their plans for relocation of utility services from the route of proposed Metro Bus Project within three days.

Chairing meeting of SNGPL, Mepco, PTCL and Wasa officials here on Wednesday, he said that the government had decided to shift services only falling in the middle of the Metro route. He added that the engineers had already pinpointed the services on the route. He asked the participants of the meeting to make real estimates of expenditures to be made on the shifting.

Earlier, Multan Division Commissioner Asadullah Khan had rejected the estimates from the departments concerned and directed the engineers to visit the route along with the officials of these departments to locate services and prepare a realistic estimate.

VOCATIONAL CENTRE OPENS IN MULTAN: Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Chairperson Saba Sadiq disclosed on Wednesday that a Women Protection Centre would be established in the province.

Addressing the participants of a function after inaugurating vocational centre at Child Protection Bureau, she further revealed that three more child protection centres were being set up in Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur. She added that the work on Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Multan building would begin in the next month. She said that the provincial government adopted revolutionary steps to turn runaway and street children into useful citizens. She said that the PML-N always launched public welfare projects and therefore the masses exhibited their trust in the government. She hoped that these children would play a key role in development of the country.

Focal person of the bureau Hamza Shahid Lodhi said that the kids would contribute to the social and economic progress of the country. He added that the credit to boost the performance of the bureau and turn it into a top department went to Saba Sadiq.
