wah cantt - The parents and students of Sir Syed School and College have urged the college administration to take stock of heavy fee and funds under different heads.
The parents alleged that they are charged under different pretexts. The parents of the children studying in different classes claimed that the primary class students are charged with heavy fee which is putting extra financial burden on them.
“The grade-II students are charged with Rs 1,000 examination fee and Rs 60 as science fund,” said a mother Shamim Akhter. She said it is ridicules that grade-II student is being charged with heavy examination fee and science fund while even students of that class have never been taken to science laboratory.
Khalid Khan, a factory employee said that he is a low-paid employee and such charges dent him heavily. He said last month he had to spend heavily on procurement of new books, notebooks and uniform when new academic year commenced and now the school administration have issued fee slips with exorbitant charges on different accounts like building fund, science fund and examination fee. “Why is a grade-III student charged Rs 1,000 examination fee?” he asked.
“Why students of grade-III are charged science fund when they are not even taken to science laboratory, as only SSC students are allowed to visit the so-called laboratory,” said another mother Kaneez Fatima. She said that even grade-II students are charged Rs 100 as building fund and Rs 100 as student fund and such acts are no less than “robbing” parents on the pretext of education.
Despite repeated attempts the college principal refused to talk to this correspondent. The phone attendant took the cell number of this correspondent but did not respond back despite a wait of three days.
The parents and students of Sir Syed School and college Wah Cantonment have called upon Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Chief Lt General Omer Mehmood Hayat and Patron Sir Syed Educational Society Zakki Ur Rehman to take stock of situation.
