Woman gang-raped, another kidnapped in separate incidents

ISLAMABAD   -   A man was shot dead over a petty issue in Dhoke Awan while a woman was gang raped in a flat located at a private housing society in capital, informed sources on Thursday.

Another woman was also kidnapped. Robbers, daocits and auto-theft gangs also deprived many citizens of gold, cash, mobile phones, two cars and three motorcycles in various areas, they said.

According to details, a brawl occurred between two parties over a petty issue in Dhoke Awan, Sihala during which Aqib Ali and Adeel started firing and murdered Munir Ahmed. The killers managed to escape from the scene while rescuers moved the body to PIMS for autopsy, sources said.

Sihala police registered a case against the two killers on complaint of Sajid Ali, the brother of deceased, and launched manhunt to arrest the killers, sources said.

A woman namely Zainab un Nisa reporter to Police Station (PS) Lohibher that she had sold out a plot at the hands of Mohsin. She alleged Mohsin called her in his flat located in Bahria Town Phase 2 for payment of land. However, she was raped by two men there.

After committing crime, the duo managed to escape from scene, she told police and requested to file a case against rapists. Taking action, police registered case against duo under sections 376-ii/337-J and 506 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and started investigation, sources said.

Asif Mehmood, resident of F-6/2, lodged complaint with PS Kohsar stating that Abdul Rehman and his accomplice had kidnapped his daughter Amna Asif (17). Police lodged FIR and started investigation, sources added. On the other hand, armed dacoits targeted citizens on roads of federal capital and snatched valuables from them on gunpoint, something seeking strong attention of Inspector General of Police, DIG and SSP Operations Islamabad.

According to sources, Fawad Aleem told PS Industrial Area that two armed men snatched cash and 9mm pistol from him on gunpoint at I-8/3 and fled from the scene. 

Muhammad Baskash appeared before officials of PS Sabzi Mandi and tabled application that four armed dacoits intercepted him and his wife at Srinagar Highway at 10:45pm and snatched cash and gold ornaments. Nasir Khan, a resident of Banigala, lodged complaint with PS Banigala stating two robbers stormed into his house and made off with cash, jewellery, mobile phones and wrist watches. 

Likewise, two robbers entered shop of Ghulam Abbas at GT Road and stolen two LCDs and mobile phone, they said. Auto-theft gangs also pilfered two cars and three motorcycles from the jurisdictions of police stations Sihala, Golra, Karachi Company, Industrial Area and Aabpara. Police registered case against members of auto-theft gangs on complaints of victims and started investigation with no recovery so far.

According to a police spokesman, police recovered Rs100,000 ransom money from four suspects during investigation who allegedly kidnapped Farhan Khalid at gunpoint last month and took him to Rahimyar Khan. According to police, SSP (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer constituted a special team under supervision of SP I-Area including ASP Industrial Area Abdul Aleem, SHO  Industrial Area  and other cops had rescued the abductee after arresting the kidnappers during last month. The police team also recovered a vehicle and weapon used in crime from the accused identified as Muazzam Qureshi, Basharat Ali, Muhammad Irfan and Muhammad Rizwan. Meanwhile, during special checking the police teams arrested a suspect namely Aurangzeb and recovered two pistols and a 12-bore gun with ammunition from his possession. IGP Islamabad Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman appreciated the performance of police teams and announced cash prizes for them.  

He added Margalla police have arrested a Pakistani national namely Shahid from F-8 on charges of teasing a female Chinese national after filing a case against him. He said a Chinese national Song Kai lodged complaint with PS Margalla that Shahid teased his sister. Police registered case and held Shahid.
