LAHORE – An Additional District and Sessions Judge on Wednesday directed police to proceed as per law on an application seeking registration of a case against Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his son MNA Hamza Shahbaz on charges of extending life threats to the petitioner.
The court directed police to register a case against the accused if any offence was made by them. As per details, former PML-Q MPA Ahad Malik’s wife Riffat Ahad Malik filed an application under section 22 A 22 B submitting that she along with her granddaughter was on her way back from court when some armed people intercepted her car.
Riffat said the armed people warned her to withdraw cases against Hamza Shahbaz and also hurled her life threats. The petitioner alleged that Chief Minster Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz were behind all these threats.
Riffat said when she approached the North Cantonment Police Station and filed an application requesting to register FIR against Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz, the police denied her request. The petitioner prayed to the court to direct the station house officer (SHO) concerned to register a criminal case against the respondents.
PLEA DISPOSED OF: Justice Ali Baqar Najfi of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday disposed of a petition seeking recovery of Muhammad Ahmad, minor son of Faizan Haider who was gunned down by American agent Raymond Davis.
On Monday, the counsel for maternal aunt of minor appeared before the court and pointed out that child was safe and sound in her custody and Faizan’s brother wanted custody for the sake of money. The court disposed of the petition and directed the parties to approach guardian court for the resolving the issue of minor’s custody.
Imran Haider, brother of Faizan, had filed the petition seeking recovery of his nephew. The petitioner submitted that after receiving blood money, Zara Faizan, wife of his brother Faizan Haider, shifted to her parents’ house along with minor son Muhammad Ahmad, who was born after the death of his father.
The petitioner said Zara’s father had killed Zara and her mother to take custody of minor and the money as they were not giving him money for business purposes. The petitioner alleged that Shahzad and Haider Ali, father-in-law and brother-in-law of Faizan, had been hiding the minor since the death of his mother. He requested the court to direct the police for recovery of Ahmed.
