QUETTA - Pakistan Medical Council, Balochistan chapter, President Dr Sultan Tareen has threatened to close all the casualty and emergency wards within 48 hours if the government fails to recover the kidnapped senior psychiatrist Dr. Muhammad Ghulam Rasool, who was abducted 15 days ago.

Addressing a protest demo in front of Quetta Press Club, on Wednesday, he said that despite lapse of 15 days, no govt representative or Minister has sympathised with them. “Therefore, we are going to close the hospitals and would not provide any medical aid to any govt representative and their families”, he said. He said that PMA Balochistan wanted immediate recovery of all the missing doctors including Dr. Ghulam Rasool, Dr. Din Muhammad Baloch and Dr. Akbar Marri.

He said that if the doctors safe recovery was not secured, they would expand their protest to all Pakistan and would request PMA Pakistan to close all hospitals in protest.

Tareen said that they knew who were the thieves and the kidnappers in Balochistan and that who threatened the doctors. “If we know them all, how come, Inspector General FC and other concerned security quarters are unaware of their whereabouts,” Tareen said.

“We want missing doctors back even if they are in the custody of government,” he stated.
