Independence Day celebrated in Pakpattan



PAKPATTAN - Independence Day was celebrated with traditional zeal and fervor and a renewed commitment to make the motherland prosperous and impregnable here on Tuesday.
A number of social, cultural and literary organizations and educational institutions chalked out various programmes to mark the day.
The main function was held at DCO complex which was attended by DCO Syed Haider Iqbal, DPO Jehanzaib Nazeer Khan, MPA Sardar Wajid Ali Doger, Punjab Chief Minister Coordinator Habibullah Bhatti, ADC Nadeem abbas, ASP (HQ) Dr Rizwan, DO-Education Fozia Ejaz, DO-Forest Malik Wassem Sajjad, Dr Jameel, Traders, Civil society members and other people relating different walks of life. The DCO hoisted the national flag. Children belonged to different schools paid tributes to founder father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and great thinker and philosopher Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal, who gave the Muslims of sub-continent idea of a separate homeland.
On the occasion, the DCO said that August 14, 1947 represented the victory of those politicians who worked relentlessly to free the Muslims from the British repression.
He said that the government had planned detailed programmes to celebrate the day with zeal and commitment and promote sense of unity and national cohesion among the deprived people of the province.
Addressing the participants, DPO Jehanzaib Nazeer asked the people to be practical and shake hands to strengthen the country. He said that Pakistan is a blessing of Almighty Allah and we should make it beautiful and progressive.
Moreover, the PML-N Youth Wing also arranged a function at Jinnah Hall.
