PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister for Excise and Taxation, Liaqat Shabab has said that students should make more efforts to meet the challenges of the present modern age and play an active role to bring the country at par with the developed countries of the world.He was addressing as a chief guest at the earth breaking ceremony of construction work of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Nowshera Cantt at Nowshera district, which will be completed with a cost of Rs 18 million under the supervision of C&W Nowshera Division.The ceremony was also attended by officers of departments concerned, office bearers of PPP Nowshera and elite of the area in large number. The Minister said that government was making hectic efforts to remove ignorance from the society and promote education in the country that was why, the PPP Government had always established educational institutions in every nook and corner of the country. He said Nowshera District had only girls Degree College but second same college was established by Late General (Retd) Nasirullah Khan Babar at Pabbi. He said that approval of Benazir Girls Degree College has been granted on which construction work would be taken in hand very soon. He said that with the upgradation of Government Girls High School to the higher secondary level the problem of admission of girls in first and second years classes would be resolved.Earlier, the minister formally inaugurated the construction work of the school by unveiling the plaque.Meanwhile, all Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference has announced to observe Istehkam-e-Pakistan Week so as to renew its resolve to continue making efforts for Kashmir’s liberation. Addressing a news conference here at Peshawar Press Club the other day, All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (AJ&KMC), KPK, President and former advisor of Kashmir government Muhammad Hassan Khan said that the courageous tribesmen along with Kashmiris took part in the historical movement started from Nelabutt. To commemorate the movement, he said AJ&KMC decided to observe Istehkam-e-Pakistan Week from August 14 to August 23, adding that strong and stable Pakistan was important for the independence of Kashmir. Flanked by AJ&KMC, district Peshawar chapter, President Muhammad Sohail, Muhsin regretted that Pakistani government declared the rival India as a most favoured nation for mutual trade. He also criticised the opposition parties for supporting the government in this stance.“We are not against the friendship of Pakistan with India, but this friendship might be an alarm for the Pak-China friendship.” He said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) paved the way for PPP to come into power. He said they supported Pakistan Army, adding that they expressed sympathy with the families of Salala attack victims. He observed that a conspiracy had been hatched to divide Kashmir, adding that however Muslim Conference was the only party that believed that ‘Kashmir Banega Pakistan.’
