QUETTA - Expressing resentment over the failure of police, a special anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday once again issued non-bailable arrest warrants for former president Pervez Musharraf, former premier Shaukat Aziz, former Balochistan chief minister and other accused nominated in Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti murder case. The arrest warrants were issued by ATC Judge Nawaz Khan Barakzai in Sibi while hearing a case of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti which was registered with the Kohlu Police Station. The session court in Kohlu had sent the case through the Balochistan High Court (BHC) to the ATC in Sibi on July 4.During the hearing, the investigation officers informed the court that they were in contact with federal government for the arrest of Pervez Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz through Interpol, while other accused could not be arrested so far as some of them had sought bail from high courts. They said Jam Muhammad Yousaf had sought bail from the BHC, which had been extended to September 3, while the then interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Sherpao had sought transit bail from the Peshawar High Court. The judge remarked that no exemption had been given to Jam Yousuf from personal appearance; therefore; the court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Pervez Musharraf, Shaukat Aziz, Jam Yousuf, former home minister Shoaib Nosherwani, the former DCO of Dera Bugti Abdul Samad Lasi, Aftab Sherpao and Owais Ghani (the then governor) and directed them to appear before the court during next hearing on September 5.The court directed the investigation officers for contacting Interior Minister Rehman Malik to ensure the arrest of Pervez Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz through Interpol.Later, the hearing was adjourned till 5 September.Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti was murdered on August 26 in 2006 during a military operation in Pervez Musharraf’s regime.
