One killed in Quetta bomb blast


QUETTA - At least one person was killed and eight others sustained serious injuries when explosives planted in a hotel exploded here on Wednesday.
According to police, unidentified miscreants planted explosives under a table at Mir hotel which went off with huge blast, killing a security guard on the spot and leaving eights others inujured. “The people were busy taking meal when the blast occurred that damaged the hotel’s furniture besides scattering windowpanes of nearby buildings” a police official said.
Police and personnel of Frontier Corps rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. The rescue workers pulled out the injured and moved them to the Civil Hospital for medical aid where doctors described the condition of three injured as critical. “I was just passing through the hotel when a huge blast occurred inside the hotel and people started running,” an eyewitness said. The deceased was identified as Jan Muhammad and injured were identified as Shamsullah, Muhammad Saleem, Bashir Ahmed, Maulla Bakhsh, Muhammad Bashir, Amir Khan and Shabir.
Police have started investigation into the blast. However, no group has claimed responsibility for the blast immediately.
