ISLAMABAD  - Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf telephoned MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain and congratulated him on Independence Day. The Prime Minister also congratulated him on award of Nishan-e-Imtiaz to Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad, Governor Sindh. Altaf Hussain assured the Prime Minister of full cooperation to the government's endeavours to stabilise the democratic system and efforts for preserving the integrity and solidarity of the country.The Prime Minister is contacting major political leaders as part of an initiative to maintain a congenial environment, as the nation approaches the general elections so that they are held in free, fair and impartial manner.
