ISLAMABAD – Roots National Institute of Teachers Training and Education (RNITTE) hosted a special 7-day “Qualification Induction Programme 2012-13” in collaboration with Roots School System Department of Qualification, Curriculum& Assessment-DQCA.

The workshop aimed to enlighten the RSS audience on the teaching practices best suited in the current scenario of active learning and teach the teachers on how to best respond to the challenges of education. RNITTE looks forward to continuous professional development in order to impart teachers with the latest pedagogical practices and to improve their teaching skills. During the QIP 2012-13, Roots School System Curriculum Leads, Master Trainers, Subject & Language specialists  enlightened all the Montessori Directresses, Junior School Teachers ,Lower Secondary Teachers, Academic Coordinators ,Branch Heads &Head Mistresses about  the importance of RSS in-house curriculum and how it can be effectively presented into the classrooms by integrating 21 century teaching pedagogies. The workshop facilitated teachers with the pedagogies required to implement the curriculum and to revolutionize  and ameliorate the role of an effective teacher through a structured process of teacher education, training & development. This Programme was structured subject wise and  gave a detailed overview about the RSS curriculum, copy format, checking criteria, folders, lesson plan, diary, assessments, open days, parent teacher meetings, RSS AV aids, assessments, subject wise and level wise specialized orientations.RSS has a history of successful and student centered curriculum advancements with a focus on child academic development by involving the 3 E’s Exposure, Expansion and Exploration. The workshop was designed for all the three tiers i.e. Roots International Primary Programme-RIMP, Roots International Primary Programme -RIMP & Roots Lower Secondary Programme-RLSP.

Speaking on the occasion Executive Director Chaudhry Faisal Mushtaq said the responsibility of the 21st century educator revolve around three key points i.e. Skills, Knowledge and Values. The important parameters of the school developments are academics, skills, image, culture, curriculum & management. Teacher role is to reach out to the child, to build social-emotional connection with the child, making child understand development of skills and understanding of the curriculum. From the beginning the aim of our training institute is to empower our teaching staff by providing them trainings for their professional development. Ultimately, the objective is to support and invigorate classroom teaching with new ideas and energy, new texts and techniques, new content and connections.
