Political tension will soon subside: Ahsan Iqbal

ISLAMABAD- Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said political tension would come to an end shortly as some channels are open between the government and the protesting parties.

In an interview, he said issues like routes of the marches and their venues in Islamabad were sorted out through some channels and the same channels can play a role for normalization of the situation.

To a question, he said the claims of the PTI and PAT to bring hundreds of thousands of people to Islamabad stand exposed as people of Pakistan paid no heed to their calls.

The minister said the government is trying to convince two parties to give call to their workers to disperse peacefully as the agitation is badly affecting normal life and economy.

About the demand for resignation of the Prime Minister, Ahsan Iqbal pointed out that Lahore High Court has already declared such demands unconstitutional and the Government would not accept any unconstitutional demand.
