LAHORE - Tasveer-e-Pakistan, the biggest national photography competition of the country, was held at Lahore Arts Council yesterday.
The event, organised by One Frame Media and PR in collaboration with R&D Youth Connection, was sponsored by Leisure Club, City District Government Lahore, Frusta Delight and Pour Partner Urban Unit.
People from all over the country participated to show the positive side of Pakistan. Nearly 500 entries were made and top 50 of them were awarded certificates of participation.
Top ten were awarded medals and top 3 were presented shields and the winner was awarded with cash prize too.
Judges for the competition were Agha Rizwan Ali, Dr Naqeeb Hussain and Khalil Shah.
Winner of the competition, Faraz Saeed praised the holding of such competitions which promote the photographers and encourage them to come up with good ideas. He said that his photo of a little girl with the backpack, going to school, was of Hunza Valley.
During a ceremony at the end of exhibition, Singer Samir Khan paid tribute to philanthropist Abdul Sitar Edhi. The event was concluded with the prize distribution by Malik Zahid Mustafa. The chief guest, Punjab Education minister Rana Mashhood could not attend the event.
Raja Tahir, CEO of One Frame Media & PR, said that the main objective of this competition was to infuse creative spirit and a healthy sense of competition among participants, and the main focus was to provide a platform to people to give platform where they could showcase their hidden talent.
