Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has completed its pre-Hajj operation during which 68,000 intending pilgrims were transported to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
Spokesman of PIA said on Thursday that 225 flights carried the intending pilgrims to KSA.
He said that over 28,000 intending pilgrims were transported through special flights while about 40,000 pilgrims flew to KSA through scheduled flights.
The PIA spokesman said that from Karachi 21,400 intending pilgrims flew through 71 flights, 15,148 pilgrims from Islamabad through 50 flights, 13,960 pilgrims flew from Lahore through 43 flights, 4,571 pilgrims from Multan through 19 flights, 833 pilgrims from Faisalabad through seven flights, 3,708 pilgrims from Sialkot through 11 flights while 8,418 pilgrims flew from Peshawar for KSA through 24 flights.
President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PIA, Musharraf Rasool Cyan has congratulated the PIA team over successful completion of pre-Hajj operation and directed to provide all facilities to pilgrims on their return also.
The PIA’s post-Hajj operation will commence on August 27, and will complete on September 25, 2018.
