Our Staff Reporter MULTAN - The district administration has given go ahead to the operation clean-up against encroachments. Chairing a meeting held here on Thursday to review strategy for anti-encroachment operation, DCO Zahid Akhtar Zaman issued order for complete elimination of encroachers with full force, asking the officials concerned not to accept any pressure. He said that the roads had shrunk because of encroachments and people were faced with serious problems like traffic jams. He said that the citizens could not reach their offices and children their schools in time because of the menace. He said that the encroachment mafia occupied footpaths while traders displayed their goods outside their shops. He said that the operation should be started from Ghanta Ghar and Hussain Agahi and an indiscriminate clean up must be carried out in entire city. He asked TMA officials to take representatives of traders into confidence so that the problem of encroachment could be eliminated on permanent basis. He warned that the goods of those resisting the operation would be confiscated.
