LAHORE Chairman of Jeevay Pakistan Jeevay Muqami Hakoomat Daniyal Aziz has said that the Balochistan High Court (BHC) gave a land mark judgment on separation of powers among state organs which would also ensure independence of judiciary. This verdict of BHC would be of great significant to bring bringing democracy to grassroots level and seeking separation of judiciary from the executive. He was addressing the emember of Lahore High Court Bar Association on Thursday. He said that this judgment should be implemented as it was the command of the Constitution. He said it was very unfortunately, neither the provincial governments nor the election commission done anything to implement it. It is the criminal negligence on the part of the provincial governments for not holding the local bodies elections, he said adding local bodies system should be implemented in letter and spirit to strengthen the democratic system. He said the local bodies system is to provide justice and basic rights to the people at their door step and get them free from bureaucratic hindrances in redressing their grievances. He said that he had already held holding rallied and public meeting in all four provinces and pledged to continue it till the goal is achieved. He urged the legal fraternity to come forward in this noble task with the zeal like they did during struggle for revival of judiciary. LHCBA president Asghar Ali Gill in his concluding appreciated Daniyal Aziz for his efforts to reinforce local bodies system.
