Our Staff Reporter MULTAN - Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab Ameer Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar has said that the masses have got highly disappointed because of the poor performance of both the PPP and the PML-N and predicted the JI will bag massive success in the next general elections. Addressing a meeting of the Jamaat workers here on Thursday, he disclosed that his party had finalized the names of its candidates, asking the workers to prepare for the polls. He hoped that a large number of citizens would participate in JIs sit-in scheduled to be held in Lahore December 25. He said that the JI always raised voices for the masses at every platform while on the other hand many other parties befooled people in the name of change by gathering looters and plunderers in their folds. He lashed out at the government and said that the rulers had failed at all fronts. He added that the government dropped price hike bombs on the poor people besides pushing forward the policies of Musharraf government. He asked the government to pull out of the 'so-called war on terror as it was the only way to restore peace, progress and prosperity in the country. He warned that the country could face 1971-like debacle if the masses failed to rise against the corrupt ruling clique. He said that on one hand the country was grappling with severe crises while on the other hand the rulers were striving to save their rule instead of saving the country. He suggested to the government not to resist Supreme Courts verdicts and implement them in letter and spirit, adding that otherwise a clash of institutions could take place. He demanded the government to get vacated all airbases from the US and shut down Nato supply line permanently.
