KASUR - Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs and PPP Central Punjab President Manzoor Ahmed said on Saturday that Sharif brothers had waged a war of words against President Zardari and were spreading baseless propaganda which was not mere than a pack of lies. If the PPP starts unfolding “true stories” of the Sharif Brothers, they would find no place to hide, Manzoor Wattoo warned while talking to local mediamen here after reviewing arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit to Kasur scheduled for Sunday (today).

The PPP central Punjab president claimed that that the law and order situation in Punjab was worst-ever and people were being looted, kidnapped for ransom and killed in broad daylight, adding that the Punjab government was helpless to protect the life and property of the common man.

Manzoor Wattoo asserted that the educational system and state run schools in the province were on the verge of collapsed while the Khadim-e-Aala was daydreaming of establishing Daanish schools. He claimed that in other countries mega projects were planned to benefit maximum number of people but, he regretted, that RBTS, was being launched with a cost of Rs72 billion was for the benefit of people of Lahore only, adding that it reflected the short-sightedness of the Punjab chief minister. He said that contrary to the expectations of the Sharif brothers, the people of Lahore would express their hate for the PML-N in the forthcoming general elections.

To a question, Manzoor Wattoo said that there was a complete understanding between him (Wattoo) and Chaudries of Gujrat, and that the “other things” were the media propaganda.

He was of the view that in the aftermath of the recent by-elections in Punjab, a perception was being created through the media that the PML-N had swept the by-elections.

He claimed that the PPP had lost only Cheechawatni seat where the PPP ticket-holder ditched the party and turned his coat at the eleventh hour to join the PML-N. In Narowal, the PPP and its allies won the seat while the remaining seats were already vacated by the PML-N,” he detailed. He narrated that in all the by-elections held over the past four and half years of the PPP rule, the PPP had won 20 seats more than its rival party.

Manzoor Wattoo claimed that President Zardari had sent a reference regarding declaring South Punjab a separate province. He pointed out that in central Punjab, there would be elections between, the PPP, PML-N, PTI and religious parties and the history revealed that under such situations, the PPP had been the beneficiary. He said that the PPP was lucky enough to have loyal and hardworking workers and best of its leadership.

PPP CEC Member Ch Manzoor Ahmed, District President and MPA Muhammad Hussain Dogar, City General Secretary Dr Muhammad Akram and dozens of workers and party ticket aspirants were also present on the occasion.
