The people of Pakistan voted the Pakistan Muslim League-N into power with the hope that they would bring some people-friendly policies and programs to improve the economy and governance but unfortunately not much seem to be improving. And if at all, there is some improvement, it is at a snail’s pace. Life has become extremely difficult for the people of Pakistan due to hyper-inflation and other related socioeconomic problems. The populace is waiting for steady and speedy changes in administrative justice because maladministration is the Achilles’ heel of the ruling party.

In this scenario of disappointment, despondency, deprivation and bitter resentment against the rulers, the ruling dispensation could do well to launch a medium-term governance agenda encompassing public sector capacity building, justice system reforms, human rights and ensuring rule of law.
