Commissioner directs for fast work to meet deadline

Rawalpindi - The commissioner Rawalpindi has directed relevant officers and contractors to advance targeted time of their respective works in order to meet given deadline of the metro bus service project.
This was directed in a meeting of metro bus project implementation committee, which was held here n Monday at Rawalpindi Development Authority headquarter to review progress on all packages of Rawalpindi-Islamabad metro bus project, procurement related work of PSDs, escalators, elevators, generators, lights, polls and metro bus depots. The meeting was co-chaired by former MNA Hanif Abbasi and Commissioner Rawalpindi/ Director General RDA Capt (Retd) Zahid Saeed. Former MNA Shakeel Awan, Chief Engineer RDA Saeed Akhtar, CTO Shoaib Khurram, project manager NESPAK, and other relevant persons of all packages attended the meeting.
Progress on all packages and procurement of different material was discussed threadbare. The commissioner reiterated his stance for speedy work on the project. It was decided in the meeting that procurement of all abovementioned material will be completed by the end of this month.
Abbasi asked the procurement firms to increase their teams for installation of PSDs, escalators, and elevators etc in view of the work to be completed on time. He urged contractors to speed up work on the all packages of metro bus project so as to meet the given deadline.
