LAHORE - Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister on Health Kh Salman Rafiq has said that the government was considering special pay package for ensuring 100 percent presence of medical officers at Basic Health Units (BHUs).
Chairing a meeting to review strategy for ensuring presence of doctors at BHUs at Civil Secretariat yesterday, he said that approval would be sought from the Chief Minister for giving hard area allowance to the doctors according to the distance of the BHU from the city. Kh Salman Rafiq said that special incentive was necessary for motivating medical officers at BHUs. He said that far flung districts of Southern Punjab would be given priority.
CM’s Health Roadmap Team informed that a pilot project was being run in district Jhang and there was need to extend this model to other areas of the province.
