FAISALABAD: As many as three death convicts have been hanged in Faisalabad and Dera Ghazi Khan jails today.
Two death row prisoners, Liaqat and Ishaq, were executed in the Central Jail Faisalabad early in the morning. The convicts had gunned down two persons in 1992. Mushtaq Ahmad was sent to gallows in the Dera Ghazi Khan Jail after he was convicted for killing his wife and daughter, in 1999 over a family dispute. Meanwhile, the execution of a death convict, Allah Ditta, was halted after a compromise with the victim family. Ditta had murdered a man in 2006 over an old enmity.
