ISLAMABAD: India is sabotaging efforts to normalise relations with Pakistan and is using flimsiest reasons to avoid talks, said Foreign Office spokesperson Nafeez Zakaria Friday.

In an interview with Press Trust of India, the Foreign Office spokesperson urged New Delhi to come to the dialogue table and show seriousness in resolving the Kashmir issue.

“India has tried to do everything to sabotage every goodwill gesture Pakistan made towards normalising relations. Every time there is prospect for talks, but New Delhi comes up with a new excuse,” said Zakaria.

“India wants to suppress Kashmiris and use Pakistan card and border tension to hide their crimes against humanity in held-Kashmir and also for playing domestic politics.”

To a question, the spokesperson said improvements in bilateral ties and the security situation in the region depend on the Indian attitude and behaviour.
