ISLAMABAD: Outgoing Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt-General Rizwan Akhter on Thursday held a farewell meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here.

The premier appreciated the services of General Akhter as the director-general of the ISI and expressed good wishes for new responsibilities and future, an official statement.

“Both discussed the internal and external security situation of the country,” it added.

Recently, Lt-General Naveed Mukhtar was appointed as the director general ISI to replace General Akhter who has been posted as president of the National Defence University (NDU).–Staff Reporter
